wow. we went to harrow at the weekend. it was really fun. i had never ridden concrete bowls before and i had no idea how much fun it is. they are much smoother than ramps, more like dirt, only it really hurts when you come off, which i did, twice.
this is a little figure of eight bowl. it was the first thing i rode. it was fun and easy, so i tried 180s on it and came off and hit my head. i looked like a frog for the rest of the day. this is tim carving it like a massive berm. fun and fast.
my next stack was in the snake run. i was trying a hippy line, and didn't account for the landing going directily into a concrete wall which caused much pain. this is me trying to get out of the steep bit of the bowl, and below, lying in leaves until the pain went away. on the right is one of my lookback/turndown attempts. it looks odd.
some of tims technical tricks. a manual gap between the snake run and the vert, manual over hip and an early shot on the hip.
haha, this is funny. its a kickout on the hip, but the timing isn't great. becky took all of these pictures. she is getting good at photography now. harrow isn't an easy place to shoot either.
kickout and table attempts on the hip. this looked like it would be rubbish to ride, but it was actually quite fun, and it made it really easy to table on if you rode it the right way. it was very busy tho, and the skateboarders would wait until noone was there before they would ride it, so it took ages for everyone to take a go. i snaked some people, but only when they didn't go when it was free.
adam and seb had to go before we got the camera out. this is the only picture we got of adam in the swimming pool. above is tim riding the hippy thing. if you were good you could just ride round and round this like joe alderson at churtsey. we weren't good enough. i could only do 2 hips and tim can only do 3.
when tim was learning to ride quarter pipes he learnt the wrong way, the result of which was that he learned this trick. now he can ride quarters and can still do this, which looks cool. its harder than you might think. the hip made it easy to table. this is the best table i have ever done i think. it's still not quite flat, but it's getting there.i could go all crazy antix and photoshop out the background and stick in some big trails, but then someone might get confused.
