Orange Trails: Forever - 2004.
Familiar? There used to be trails here. 4 lines or so. There has been jumps here
for a long time.
The land is owned by the Orange telephone company and they never have had a
problem with this.
Recently the land next to this was bought and whoever bought it obviously didn't
want us as neighbours and decided to do this.
The jumps were started by Bleachy, who no longer rides, and Tom Stanley from
Tenterden (who does).
It was a fly tipping spot and there was a lot of rubbish down there, lots of
which ended up in the jumps.
I have been digging there for about 3 years now and this picture makes me very
sad.
Three summers of building and riding jumps here. I have a lot of happy memories
of long days in the hot sun.
The first jump I ever rode was here. I still have the scar on my arm from the
gravel that I stacked onto.
In a few years I will probably start developing cancer from spending too much
time near the phone mast.
I still can't really believe that they are gone - I am still thinking about what
I am going to build next year.
Now the land will go to waste again.
"Fruit tree, fruit tree No-one knows you but the rain and the air. Don't you
worry They'll stand and stare when you're gone.
Fruit tree, fruit tree Open your eyes to another year. They'll all know That you
were here when you're gone."
