Tim broke his arm about a week ago. The doctors have decided to leave the plate in while the bone heals. The bone broke in one of the old screw holes which has been healing for about a year but was still a weak spot. The doctors may take the plate out but won't do so for about a year probably, which means that Tim's arm will be weak for at least two years and maybe even longer than that. He can't risk breaking it again because he won't be able to be a fireman, something he has wanted to do for a long time. As a result of all this mess he has decided to stop riding.

This is quite sad. One day we will all have to stop riding for one reason or another. It's not the most important thing, it's only a bit of fun, and there is a lot more to life than riding bikes.

I have a lot of pictures of Tim which show how good he got on his bike this summer. I think this is a good testament to his ability to overcome obstacles like breaking your arm two times. It also shows his talent for doing well at whatever he puts his mind to. Looking at these pictures doesn't make me sad that he can't ride anymore, it makes me happy that he could ride well and it gives me confidence that whatever he tries to do next he will do well at.

Tim will still be getting extensive coverage on this website for the foreseeable future.
