Trails NewsThis is not simple so please read it carefully or don't bother. I had a phone call from the landowner of my trails last night. He has given us permission to use the land, and has no problem with us being there. This has been the situation for years. However he has had a letter from the Borough Council, saying that the "major earthworks" on the land are effecting the flood plain and require planning permission, or need to be removed. I have tried to speak to the council this morning but they want a reference number before they will speak to me. Please understand that this is not the normal situation where trails are ploughed becasue the owner isn't happy, this is something else. The council are trying to get rid of jump on private land, becasue they require planning permission. If this is true then this might effect all trails, even ones on private land. At the moment I am not sure if this is worth fighting. The planning permission will cost £265 and that won't be refunded if permission is denied. The jumps are on the flat and have bad dirt so it might be time to say good bye. |
