29th March
This is a test. It was sucessful. Its pretty warm and wet at the moment and light too, so lots of digging is getting done. There are plans to keep British Summer Time all year round and go to double summer time next spring, in the Lighter Evenings Bill, but it will probably never happen.
25th March
I love doing this
to people.
23rd March
I got Radiohead tickets. I am happy.
Still on course for a wet week coming up. April showers May bring flowers. Looks more like wet 2 weeks at least. Sounds good to me.
Yak's back. I missed you buddy.
20th March
On Friday someone came to the trails and nicked half of the wood I
have for a wall ride. Today on my way home from work I caught them
nicking the other half. It goes without saying that he was a gypsy. He
was pretty angry at me and threatened to smash my head in amongst
other things. He put the wood back but said he would be back later to
get it, and everything else (wheelbarrow etc).
So I have just been out to move all the wood and tools back into
Tim's garage. Most of the tools I don't need anymore and I can carry a
spade on my bike so that's ok, but I don't know what to do about the
wall ride. You can't make a wall ride out of dirt very easily, but if
I make it out of wood then the pikies will just make off with it. I
also have a good plank which was used as coping on the quarter to stop
it getting wrecked by back wheel hangups - do you think I need this?
What can I do about the wall ride? Any ideas?
And by some strange coincidence there is a program called Gypsy
Wars on BBC2 tonight. Essential viewing.
Metcheck. Its going to be wet this weekend for the first time in ages. Plus this Saturday the clocks go forward. This gives you an extra hour of light in the evenings. The perfect conditions to get those jumps finised off, so don't make any plans for the weekend, and try and keep your evening free next week, and the trails should be ok. That's what I think anyway.
18th March
Some pictures from my summer
holiday.
17th March
I just got back from lunch. Its so cold today my hands are red and my ears hurt. I have new pedals and a new front tyre. My old tyre was popping out of the rim so it felt bumpy to ride on. I didn't really notice the new parts which is good. I was trying 360s at the park again. The key seems to be to look over your shoulder. Do that and it works fine. Thing is, I keep forgetting to look.
I have been working on a new site at work which went live today. It's called Trowbridge Photography.
There are some more pictures on the right there ->
14th March
Before I broke my pedal I was practicing 360s on the box in Crowborough. Its a really hard box to try and spin on as its too small, and too long and not easy to get speed for and there is coping on the lip so you really have to lift up the back. Anyway I made probably the worst video ever. Riding by me. Filmed by me. Music by me. No one else helped! I couldn't find any music that worked so I made some up. You are probably best to turn the sound off as there are some bad notes in there.
Anyway download it here. <- broken
link now fixed.
8th March
It has been raining a lot which is good for the jumps and good for the water shortage. On the downside it has stopped me riding at lunchtime so I have been looking for old scaffold pole to make a new tool out of.
There's nothing to say when all the days seem the same.
5th March
The thing is I spend a lot of time building jumps and not very much
riding my bike. I do ride maybe four times a week at lunchtimes which
is fun. I tend to do this by myself. Not out of choice but I ride at
lunchtime when there is nothing else to do, and there is no-one else
around. Then there is no-one who lives near me who likes building big
jumps. Those people that do have their own jumps to build.
I am not complaining, but you have to understand this simple fact. This is
why there are so few pictures of riding on this website. I could put up pictures
of jumps but its a risky business. They are there if you know where to look.
But I still like taking pictures so I tend to take pictures of stuff I find
interesting. Maybe this will interest you too who knows. This is a just a
document of my life I guess, take it or leave it. There are some picture pages
on the right anyway. If you like building jumps then you might be interested.
3rd March
I really like March. It feels like quite an important month to get the jumps right in before they dry out. March 2003 was quite fun for jumps. I hope this year works out similarly. I was thinking last night, every year I think this summer is going to be the best, and it ends up being worse than the one before.
2nd March
It feels like march. I thought I smelt a whiff of spring in the air too even though it is so cold.
