26th May Todays
message is brought to you with wet feet.I made it my mission a year or so ago to make sure the word Shrimmo was on google, which it now is. What I found though was this (do a search on shrimmo). There is a Tenterden in Western Australia, my site provides news for it apparently, and it even gets two stars! Pensions: Most young people don't vote. Well not for government, only big brother. I thought I only had to work for 42 more years. Now it turns out I have to do 45, more than when I started working. In animal farm, the retirement age is pushed further and further back until the animals die from hard work. I guess the only consolation is that when this younger generation get to "voting age" they will go back on all the promises the government have made now, and change is all so it works out better for them. You can always rely on the selfishness of strangers.
25th May "A job that slowly kills you".
Radiohead are too good. I am finding it difficult to listen to anything
else its like a drug. I find the resonance between the world the create
and the world in which I live, stunning. By which I mean that their songs
seem to just capture exactly what it is like to live in the world at the
moment."Such a pretty house and such a pretty garden". -> It has only taken about a year, but my holiday pictures are finally online. When it says below it means above. I moved the text. That holiday was at easter. It may have taken me a long time to get round to putting the pictures on, but some of the chocolate that I was given then is still sitting on my desk. I guess I am slow. Perhaps I could also defend my recent comments about blogs. For internet geeks only: The WeblogI think blogs are useful tools and have their place on the internet. They are quick and easy to update and can be managed by more than one person. If this means they are updated more often and more emphasis is put on the quality of the update than trying to work out how to write html then that is good. Its much better to do that stuff quickly so you can spend more time on your bike. However I think these days sometimes people just jump on the blog bandwagon without thinking why and it can actually cause them more hassle than it solves. Also I think blogs can have a tendancy to distract from other aspects of web design which can be fun, and make a site more interesting to look at. After a few year of looking at blogs which just have 10 pictures of different box tricks you get a bit bored of it. Caption really help with this. I like to have a story to read. I would like to put more captions on my pictures but it takes time and I am lazy. But also what helps to make it more interesting is different designs people use to present the content. Finding you way around new designs is good for lots of reasons which I cant be bothered to list, because I am sure you agree anyway. So the point is blogs aren't bad but if you can do something better then why not. For example.
24th MayWell for those people who didn't get the jumps built in the dry winter, they now have a wet summer to finish them off. The rest of us just have to wait for the sun to come out, or better, build more jumps.I have written an article. It's pretty long and boring, but its raining outside so you might want to kill some time: England's Forgotton Heritage.
22nd MayRadiohead were really good. Green Plastic for more I guess. It is raining too much. I don't know what to do with myself. Jumps are too wet. Maybe build a house.
19th May Tonight I am going to Smelly
London (boo) to see Radiohead (yay).
18th MayWe have been doing some painting. We made two signs:Private Property | Private Keep Out! I went to some jumps last weekend. I had too much fun to take many photos but I got a few
17th May Too busy to update this thing.
Trails are fun. I keep on feeling really hungry. Much more hungry than normal. Here is the picture from the last update that didn't work: Driving home from work.
13th MayBluebells in the woods.11th MayToday I am wearing a yellow t-shirt.Can you spot the canoist?. Its a good time to go canoing before the river gets too weedy. If you would like to go canoing then you can come and borrow our canoe. Let me know in the book. I should really say kayak not canoe. Some more pictures of that field: One | Two | Three
9th MayIt rained so much yesterday there were big puddles everywhere. I want to ride Nigel's jumps at the weekend if he will let me.It is exactly a year since I broke my leg today. That was one of the worst days ever I think. Well for me anyway. I am being extra careful when I cross the road these days. Eating cod liver oil and listening to The Flaming Lips. Yeah Yeah Yeah.
8th MayWent on a walk to look for some yellow flowers. Found a pretty field.
7th MayNot much news. I know a lot of people who read this like The Office, so you might want to get the new Ricky Gervais podcasts. Stephen Merchant is pretty funny.I am starting to get withdrawal symptoms from the shovel load. The reality is beginning to kick in. Can someone please make some new good websites please. Thank you.
6th MayTricklist has an amazing new video called going solo. He has also made a 360 video. I think you need to look over your shoulder, not that I can do them anyway!Today I went for a walk and found these things: A dead squirrel. It looks like it died dancing. A horse wearing a blindfold. A modern gypsy dwelling.
5th May I went to some
jumps near my work. I mainly rode this
line. Its a bit weird, you have to cut in halfway through, hop over
a berm, pedal a bit, clear the first jump, break, the next set is a low
racer, the next bowl is really tight, but you have to break a little bit
in it, then clear the next set and break loads before the last big step
up. I think mountain bikes must go slower. My
bike is a mess.Blossom doesn't stay on the trees for very long. Loop doesn't like black thorn trees although the flowers are nice, but I think it is amazing. It grows so quickly and very thickly. I got my scanner working --> Should really be walking by now.
